A TV might be a strange request for a classroom full of high school students, but the possibilities are endless. I plan to use the TV as a way to diversify my lessons by including educational content through a wide variety of outlets. Students will be able to use the TV during small group instruction as well as a large group. The versatility of the TV will allow me to provide students with a mobile learning experience. No more sitting at a desk staring at a projector screen. Now we can move about the room as the TV moves around the room. The goal will be to have the TV on a cart which will allow it to move around the room to accommodate the lesson. Image students being able to take a virtual tour of the Holocaust Museum, or seeing a live feed of the Constitution in Washington D.C. from our small classroom in Illinois. We can take them places they have never been from the comfort of my classroom.
