I want my students to be aware of international issues and get familiar with geographical influences on languages and traditions similar and different to their own. Our students are starting to use tablets and laptops more in multiple classes. I would like to increase digital media use through access to text related activities. Subscribing to Junior Scholastic will introduce relevant international issues for discussion and geographic study. Leveled magazines will help target abilities without overwhelming students. Sixth graders will be able to spend more time comparing and contrasting issues, countries, and languages while seventh graders will have more written responses with text connections.
