The coaching staff for the program this year comes from LV and attended High School there as well. Having experienced the challenges of our community firsthand, we want to give our players the type of playing experiences that we know are possible and exist in other wealthier community areas. These materials will allow us to provide a top-quality program for youth from LV who participate in our soccer program. Team sports have been receiving funding cuts throughout the city of Chicago and these end up disproportionately affecting communities on the south and west side of the city. This grant will help alleviate some of the school's expenses and provide the opportunity to participate in a well-organized program that will challenge them physically, support them academically, and provide a positive social experience. To do this, we will be needing everything from cones, balls, practice pinnies, a second team jersey, ball pumps, goals, cones as well as striping paint as we play on a grass surface that the coaching staff needs to tend to as well.
