I am a strong believer in reading to learn. I take pride in practicing cultural relevance in the classroom and I want to use that strategy to teach my students the importance of reading to learn. I would like to provide an opportunity for my students to explore different cultures without leaving the classroom! After completing reading response journals students will receive passport stamps for each country or culture that the novel they read represents. This will not only teach them about different cultures, but it will provide them with the virtual travel experience they need to ACCEPT other cultures.

About my class
