Throughout the year I hope to excite my students about reading! Young people need to be active and engaged readers in order to better exercise their imaginations and self-care by finding stories they can relate to or escape in. They also need to be active readers in order to be engaged members of society that partake in movements and are aware of their rights. My main goal with this project is to get my students excited about reading. I will have students create book recommendations for one another and the class as well as have book share/club days where we can share what we are reading and give our opinion on the book. I want them not only to be excited to read but be able to dialogue and discuss what they are reading.
