Mathematics is not a spectator sport. You have to play to win. Imagine a mathematics classroom with an innovation center where students can gather around a workbench, write out their mathematical ideas on a dry erase tabletop, and share their findings with their classmates. The workbench has already been completed. All that is missing are the stools and the materials so that students can explore advanced mathematical ideas and share their learning with one another. Working collaboratively on mathematical problems all to grow in their understanding of math. Struggling students get the benefit of interacting with their peers. Strong students become even more proficient as they share their insights.
