Being a brand new School of the Arts, our students have been given the opportunity to participate in a Friday event called Art in Action. The Clothing Design Club has 60+ students and will operate like a small business within the school. Students will learn how to design T-shirts using dyes and bleach, they will learn the ins and outs of digital creation while they design T-shirt logos supporting our school, other elementary schools in the area, as well as our very own SUWANNEE BULLDOGS! Students will also learn how to fill orders that are taken for their student created T-shirts and how to properly organize and check off steps in the completion process. They will get to experience marketing first hand by creating posters as well as verbal advertisement. Our Clothing Design Club plans to use all profits from their T-shirt sales to put back into our Art in Action funds. Those funds will help other clubs purchase more supplies that do not bring in income such as ours. The other clubs focus on other area of art such as theater, written expression, creative movement, music, sports, S.T.E.A.M., photography, and other visual arts.
