With the implementation of rigorous Common Core State Standards a few programs had to be downsized. Unfortunately for my grade level, our music participation disappeared. With the items in this project, I plan to allow my students to rediscover the joy of music. With these instruments, I hope they will explore the different sounds and feelings created from music. Not only will they be given the chance to create their own rhythms but I plan to teach them patterns to various songs they may not be familiar with. My hope is they will learn to enjoy and appreciate music the way I did in school.
