My students come to school energetic and ready to learn every day! They enjoy movement and hands-on activities the most. It is hard for most of them to stay engaged while sitting in a hard, uncomfortable chair all day. They often get fidgety and restless. I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are expanding their literacy in our classroom library! A comfortable learning environment will lead to more student engagement, which means more success! Research shows that allowing students to sit in comfortable, flexible seating options greatly enhances their focus. My students will be able to work with a seating option that allows them to focus and stay comfortable. Both of which are needed to produce quality work. Furthermore, by creating an environment that allows students more choices for seating, they will be more willing to concentrate on the learning process in the library.
