Many of my students borrow school instruments in order to participate in orchestra. Unfortunately, a lot of these instruments are in need of something in order to help the student play on a quality instrument. This project is seeking new strings for a small portion of the school instruments, along with 3 replacement instrument cases and 8 shoulder rests. Many of the strings on the instruments have outlived their life and sound dull, are fraying, or are temporarily tied to make them last longer. Three of the violins do not have good quality cases - they also have lived a long, valuable life but are in need of replacement. Many of my violin students do not have a shoulder rest. By receiving shoulder rests, students can play their instrument with proper playing technique. These materials will help students play with ease and allow them to be more successful in orchestra. I look forward to seeing their faces when their instruments can suddenly play with an even sound and not slip around on their shoulder!
