With the materials I have requested I would like to create a project that will inspire my student to become self-reflective. Through journaling and the books provided, my students will compare and contrast their lives and experiences with those characters and be able to highlight the positive in themselves and find ways to rectify anything they deem negative. This project will build multiple skills for my students. In addition to becoming more self-aware, they will be improving their writing skills as I create lessons and activities that will encourage clear thought out properly structured essay, letters, and poetry. My students will also began to show compassion and respect for cultures, races, and ethnicities different from their own based upon the information they will gain by reading the books from this project.
