My goal for the Coffee Shop project is to teach my students how to take orders, fill orders correctly, and distribute those orders. The students would get to work on their social skills while taking orders and distributing orders. Those skills such as shaking hands and making eye contact are so important. The older students will work on counting money and taking change. Some of my students are from economically disadvantaged families. We love to go on field trips and the experiences we go on are often the first time they have been there. We would use the proceeds from the project to fund those trips that the students love to go on.
