I am opening up a brand new art room in a school that serves students from diverse backgrounds. All of the supplies I am asking for will allow me to give my students opportunities in the art room that reach far beyond crayons and colored pencils. I want my students to work hands-on with most of their projects. These materials will allow me to give my student's projects they can work collaboratively on and will spark high levels of excitement and engagement. The gelli printmaking plates are newer to the world of art education and students love them. I need the brayers and the gelli plates to be able to create a successful printmaking lesson. The weaving materials will bring serenity to their little minds. The fun glazes will be a nice addition to their amazing clay pieces. We love clay! I also get to teach a class that serves students with different, special needs. The model magic clay and foam beads will help me keep my special friends excited to create. I want my art room to introduce all of the different art methods to​ my students! I want my students to leave elementary art excited to see what's to come in the secondary art world.
