Each day when my students enter the class I will be standing at the door asking if they want a high five, handshake or a hug to start their day. Then we will go into our daily morning meeting. This the time that I will always remind my students how important they are to our class and school family using conscious discipline. We will do partner activities and share personal information with each other. Many of the items on my project will be used during this time. My students will also know that our classroom is a safe place. This is a special quiet spot in my room that a child can go to refocus. In my safe place I will provide fidgets and other stress relieving items to help a student feel better or get more focused. I want my students to know we are a family and we will always be there for each other. The donations would help in creating this safe and loving environment for my students.
