One goal for our classroom is for every student to feel safe and comfortable at school. Safety is a concern for some of my students, so being able to provide a classroom that feels comfortable and safe is a high priority for me. If the need for safety is met, we can concentrate on meeting our learning goals​! I would like my students to know that if there is a fire or even an active shooter situation, we will be able to escape safely and quickly. We already discuss this every year and someone always asks about how we can get out if going out the door is not an option. Having the escape ladder and fire extinguisher will definitely help them feel more safe and secure.
