These materials would greatly impact student learning by providing them with visuals during language arts. In Second Grade, we utilize small group instruction to support students learning both English and Spanish. As a Dual-Language classroom, half of the class is learning Spanish as a second language, and half of the class are English Language Learners. By increasing their support and engaging them in the classroom, students will be more confident in their learning. Our goal is for our students to develop a love for learning in both languages. The whiteboard in our classroom would allow students to have a better reference during their independent work, with something that is easily accessible and easy to view. The small whiteboards would be used in small group instruction as well as reading centers for students to practice word work and other literacy skills.
