Blending academic curriculum with a social skills program takes creativity and incorporating deliberate scenarios to prompt thinking coupled with understanding the cause and effect ones actions. Sensory items such as the wiggle seats can help learners focus on tasks at hand that are otherwise difficult. The magnetic tiles will be used to support group team-building activities to practice listening, sharing, cooperating and accepting differing view points. During group morning meetings, the prompts allow for natural conversations. These materials will support learning as well as a growth mindset as students continue to pursue their academic careers and become successful, contributing members to society.
