We are a class for students who need emotional support in order to access learning and curriculum. We have 24 students, 2 teachers, and about a dozen support staff. Our students have overcome immense obstacles and remain resilient and excited to learn. While we face tremendous behavior struggles every day, we continue to thrive and offer our students hands-on, enriching activities every day. Our school is an urban public middle school with close to 1000 students. Our students come from our school as well as the other 2 middle schools in the District. The students in our Counseling Enriched Program have PE, Art, Language, and Math class with us, and go to garden classes, assemblies, and special events with the rest of the school when they are in "good space" to go. This year our students have already made a short film about sportsmanship, written poems about their lives, read many books, and improved many skills. With a new teacher and many new staff, we are off to a great start!
