There are many demands in students on a typical day of school. I plan on providing a soft start to school. Don’t you need a cup of coffee or some quiet time in your morning before your day begins? Well, kids do too! Students will enter the classroom everyday and be able to start their day by picking different morning activities. Students can work independently or with their peers. By donating to my project, students will prepare their brains for the demand of the academic day. These materials will help students interact with each other and learn how to share. Morning work also gives student choice. By giving choice, it unlocks engagement, participation, and motivation. Students can choose different activities that interest them and challenge them. The morning work will be full of lots of manipulatives. While students are ‘playing’, they are also engaging with academic tools in a non-threatening way. They have the chance to explore the mix and match magnetic toys to help them think outside the box, and they will improve their memory and problem solving skills by completing puzzles. Students will play with tangrams, geo boards, use building sets, magnetic toys, and use STEM activities, and be able to construct structures that encourage them to think like builders. They will be given the choice of activities before the start of the day. Thank you so much for your donation!
