Battle of the Books is a districtwide competition for 4th and 5th grade students. Students will read these new and exciting titles from now until early March. They will discuss the books with their peers. Often students like to form book clubs to share the experience. Students will then come together to demonstrate their understanding of the titles. A team of students will be selected to represent the school at our districtwide competition. Battle of the Books is designed to introduce students to exciting new books and to have fun along the way as they read and discuss the titles with their peers. There are 8 titles on the 2020 Battle of the Books List. I am looking for 6-7 copies of each title so all interested 4th & 5th grade students may work in book clubs or individually to read the book. This event always generates a lot of enthusiasm for reading which is the ultimate goal.
