Many of these books are high interest and are not in our school's media center, or we only have one copy that must be shared by the entire school which is 1,300+ students. My goal is to increase the size of my classroom library to share engaging reads with the even increasing number of reluctant readers that seen to appear each year. My focus is to provide engaging novels for males in particular. I also am aiming to provide novels which provide culturally diverse content for all students. All people deserve the chance to engage in reading that is relatable and appealing. My goal is to provide my students with the opportunity to find a love for reading, with the understanding of how others think and communicate effectively and beautifully, and with the capability to enjoy and be entertained by what they read.
