Scholastic News magazines bring interesting and fun reading to our first grade students. Over the year students learn about events from history, science, and literature. We have several ESL students that greatly benefit from having the experience to learn about American events. The kids get so very excited for Scholastic News time! We read the magazines as a class and discuss the topic of the month. I remember reading these as a child and looked forward to these each month. The installations in the magazine are so important for our students to connect the reading passages to the pictures. Scholastic News brings current and historical events from all around the world to our students. These magazines help our students step away from screen time and physically hold a publication that is quickly fading away from education.
