Since our school is rather new, a majority of our budget was spent on getting students tables and chairs... leaving our students having to be creative with how we get supplies and new educational materials into the classroom. Donors Choose is just one way we are doing that. We're looking for companies and community sponsors that can help us outfit our spaces with the latest in Educational Making opportunities! Our students are eager to become makers and be able to bring all the ideas in their head to life on real materials like vinyl, stickers, leather, and beyond. Most of our students have never even sewed in their life nor experienced the ability to hot press, scan ideas, or even bring a doodle on their iPad to life! With the Cricut Explore Air 2, all of that is possible. At the beginning of the year, our kiddos will be going through PBL and Design Thinking activities that challenge them to draft up solutions to real-life scenarios they see in their communities. This project would help them build REAL items to then contribute to the community!
