I have been out of the classroom for 5 years in an administrative/instructional coach position. Now I am going back to the classroom to teach Kindergarten! In my previous position, I encouraged teachers to incorporate fun and simple interactive stations to engage learners while still teaching them skills that are essential. I want to incorporate stations that are hands-on, diverse, interactive and fun while meeting the needs of all my students. I have found that you can also bring in literacy everywhere by using stations that we loved. For example, in the block station if we are discussing mammals in reading and science have them build a habitat for a mammal like a cave for a bear or a pig pen for a pig. What kid doesn't like play dough? In a play dough station they can build the 3 mammals they like best and tell their partner why. And of course they can always write about it if they finish early! As long as my students have a purpose in each station, learning is occurring! Please consider donating and help make my classroom a successful place.
