Fourth grade students will experience another time period by taking a charter bus to the OHOP Pioneer Farm Museum. This field trip is directly related to their social studies curriculum and will give them hands-on, meaningful experiences that will bring their learning to life. Students will interact with farm animals (milk a cow if they want!), work in a blacksmith shop, do pioneer chores, ride in a wagon pulled by a horse, step inside two real pioneer cabins, and learn about the challenges pioneers faced in the 1800's. Students will also get to explore nature and learn about the resources the Native Americans of Washington used in their daily lives.
