As a first-year teacher, I do not have many supplies to provide for my students. In second grade, there are many materials and manipulatives that are needed to have a successful school year. This project includes base ten blocks, fraction tiles, phonemic awareness linking blocks, magnetic letters and more. These manipulatives will promote hands-on learning for Math and English Language Arts that will allow my students to think at a deeper level. I also have included a document camera that will allow the students to see my demonstrations on the board. Tell me and I forget | Teach me and I remember | Involve me and I learn -Benjamin Franklin. Each student should be given the opportunity to learn using different manipulatives. With these hands-on tools, my students will learn in a meaningful way.
