Flexible seating allows students to choose a spot in the classroom that best suits their learning needs. Last year, students had a choice of sitting at their desks, using clipboards on the ground, laying on pillows, and even sitting under tables when working. I really noticed how much pride my students put into their learning when they had an option of choosing seats in the classroom, and saw students take responsibility with their choices. Every student is unique, and in order to reach all students, there needs to be choice in the classroom! One way I want to continue striving to meet the needs of my students is by providing more flexible seating options. Wobble chairs would be a great addition to the flexible seating options in my classroom because they bring movement and choice to students who have a hard time sitting still. These seats provide movement for students who need to be constantly engaged with their surroundings. When students are given the choice to wiggle without distractions, they will be able to focus on the task at hand. I have seen how flexible seating choices have made a positive impact on my students' behavior and learning, and I would love to add these chairs to our classroom community!
