There are so many things I cannot control this year. One of these is that we are not allowed to use the drinking fountains. Students must bring a water bottle from home. I have encouraged insulated bottles that keep water cold all day. What I didn't account for is how much my students drink in a day. My students need to fill up their water bottles 2-3 times a day from the sink in our classroom. The water is not cold. The weather has been in the 90s and my students come in from recess to warm water. I would love to be able to provide cold water for my students. With an ice maker, I could do this. It is a small thing, but sometimes the small things make a big difference.
