My students love to read, but lack comfortable seating options to help them really settle in to sustained reading time. In addition, collaboration around low tables can be wonderful but comfortable seating allows them to focus on the topic more than their aching knees or back. We are working hard to make the classroom environment conducive to self-paced learning. I have organized and updated our library for ease of student use. The new books I have obtained have helped feed their love of reading! In addition we incorporate writing into a lot of our individual and collaborative work. For both reading and writing, settling into a good study space can help students thrive. Any avid reader or writer can tell you they have a favorite spot or setting in which to read or write! My students have asked for better seating options to enhance their learning time, so I'm doing what I can to make that happen!
