It's Monday morning and students are eagerly walking into my classroom. After putting their belongings away, they quickly grab a Morning Bin and get started on an activity in which they get to build, create, discuss, or review a skill. Their excitement is contagious. What better way is there for students to learn than through play? I believe Morning Bins will make a significant impact on the overall growth of my students. With these Morning Bins, students will enhance both academic and social skills without even knowing it. With the supplies that I am requesting, students will be able to work in groups of 3-4 and participate in activities such as building words with phonics dominoes or Bananagrams. They can explore shapes with stencils or practice writing and storytelling skills with engaging scented markers and paper. They might practice sight words with magnetic letters or play dough. Regardless of the activity they participate in, students are beginning their day in a positive, engaging learning environment in which they can socialize in a positive manner.
