Through participation in basketball, we hope to engage youth in pro-social relationships and activities that seek to minimize behavioral and academical challenges in school. Improve students’ social and emotional health. Organized sports can teach students how to manage and resolve conflicts on and of the court. Sports also teach student other characteristics such as honesty, fairness, leadership, respect, and sportsmanship. All of these attributes can be applied to the daily lives of students. Increase parent participation by providing opportunities for parents to support and encourage their child in a positive manner. - Students behavior in class will be improved - Decrease number of negative reports - Increase participation in class - Decrease number of negative peer interactions - Increase students confidence through leadership, choices, and actions - Students will have more collaboration and patience with one another - Increase self-esteem - Build a new relationship with peers throughout the school. - Students will learn teamwork - Become more fit and learn habits for a healthier lifestyles
