Learning through a pandemic is not easy. Children who have been only on this Earth for 4-5 years were missing out on over a year of proper socialization, play, conversations, and communication with others their age. Dolls become a channel for magical conversations to grow, for emotions to be discussed, and for vocabulary to be shared. There is a rich dialog to be had when children reimagine events that happened in their lives. The Dollhouse offers an avenue for re-enactments and tools for young learners to manipulate. This is why helping me provide this experience for the children will be important work through play at the Dollhouse center.
