The vast majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic background, where literacy might not be established in their homes. I want my students to feel at home in our classroom library with books that fill their sense of wonder. I am hoping to fill up my classroom library with series that students these days are loving. We are requesting a library that my students' their sense of wonder and adventure! The Third grade students in my classroom currently love reading Ramona, Junie B. Jones, and The Diary of Wimpy Kids series, but our library just doesn't have enough copies. I want them to see that through books they can travel and have adventures! My Third graders are loving The Diary of Wimpy Kids series, and while our school library has some copies, there's not enough to go around for the kids across the school to read. I am hoping that we can help bridge this gap and create readers for life, cause when they read, they can go anywhere they want. These books will help me give them books that they enjoy reading, and keep them, wanting to read.
