Hands on learning is one of the most effective teaching methods for any type of learner. In second grade, we focus heavily on addition, subtraction, time, and money. The timers will help my students efficiently learn their addition and subtraction quick facts. The base 10 blocks will help students visualize regrouping in addition and subtraction. A class set of clocks will give each student an opportunity to learn how to read an analog clock. All of these hands on materials will engage students in their learning and will also give the students a visual aide to help them be successful!
