I will use diverse literature to prompt conversation that will lead to Interactive Journal Writing. Interactive Writing is a cooperative instructional activity during which teacher and students jointly compose and write text. I will teach Interactive Journal Writing in a small group of three to five struggling readers and writers. I will use Interactive Journal Writing to model reading and writing strategies as I engages students in creating text. By using diverse literature and Interactive Journal Writing, I will provide my students with a unique opportunity to see the relationship between sharing ideas, expressing their thoughts and transforming it into written language .
