Over the past five years or so, the movement in education has been to convert our classrooms into a Starbucks type environment. This is known as flexible seating. I have made some adjustments along the way to try to make this change. I did this without really understanding what I was doing. With the experience that my seventeen years has given me, the success I have had with flexible seating, and a new insight to the idea through a class I am presently taking that focuses entirely on the matter I am certain that the items that I am wishing for will be used to their maximum potential. It has been proven that when students are at liberty to choose their work spaces, their learning and positive attitude toward the education process improve. Among the many items on my list are adjustable tables that students can use should they wish to stand as opposed to sitting. I am sure that all of us have experienced fatigue from seating too long in one position. These tables will make it possible for the individual to sit or stand while working.
