All of my students come to school eager to learn the routines of the classroom setting. Due to being a high poverty school, most of my students have experienced some form of trauma in their lives and have a hard time focusing and following routines in the general education setting. My classroom is designed to help students learn how to control their behaviors and wiggly bodies by providing them with a small group setting with flexible seating options that will meet their needs. The flexible seating options will allow my students to choose the best way to regulate their behaviors by allowing movement of the body during whole group, small group, and individual work time.
