Having a clean, calm, and effective space is such an important part of classroom set-up! My students spend a large majority of their instruction time on the carpet, so having a comfortable (and clean) rug space for them and a chair for me is a must. Using a chime and a bell as attention getters calls students back to learning after discussion time in a way that keeps the classroom volume low and the overall energy in the room relaxed. We practice mindfulness daily to get our bodies ready for learning, and a good chime makes that possible. Our class will be using these supplies every day!
