Currently, the shared devices allow students about 20 minutes to complete structured, guided math lessons. With the additional devices, students will be able to engage in meaningful science lessons with the new curriculum, Stemscopes, conduct technology based lab experiments without the need for materials that aren't affordable and have access to a world beyond their neighborhoods. Additionally, many of my students are super creative and go beyond the scope of what I am teaching! Not only do we use our technology for exploring parts of the world that they have never been privy to, but they share their knowledge with others on ClassDojo. Parents can use their cellphones to see what their children are learning about. 1 to 1 devices would provide my students with more opportunities to be more globally competent and competitive.
