Flexible seating can provide sensory and emotional regulation to students with various special needs. This, in turn, helps my students access their learning, stay engaged, and make progress in the classroom, as well as staying calm and productive. Flexible seating allows students to find ways of being more comfortable throughout the classroom. Learning to build relationships and communicate their needs and wants is a huge part of my students' daily routine. The rug selected provides a sitting area for my students during morning meetings and various other small group instruction that will help designate individual space while also providing them a space to learn and build social skills with their peers.
