As a reading intervention specialist, I work with students in 2nd-5th grades who are reading significantly below grade level. However, my students still need to read and enjoy grade-level texts. One way I make this possible for my students is by providing them with audio books. Audio books help keep my kids engaged while also giving them access to rich content and the complex texts they need to beome strong readers. One tool audio books require is chargers. I never want any of my students to not be able to read because of an uncharged device. This project will allow me to lend chargers to each of my students for home listening and also send a charger to each general education classroom. In addition, this project asks for multiple copies of two, high-quality texts about Sacagawea. This will allow each of my students to follow along with the text as they listen to the audio book.
