Third grade is an age where I love to create a classroom of readers! Students that love to read, students that ask me, "Please just one more chapter!" I have been collecting books over the years to add to my classroom library, but now I am running into the problem of having a safe place for my students to keep them. Their desks are a danger zone, posing threats of bent covers, torn pages, or being lost behind bigger books or folders. My students need a place to keep their new books where they will be safe from being jammed in desks bending covers and tearing pages. I have done a LOT of research and have finally found the answer! Book pockets for the back of their chairs! When my kids find a book they would like to read, they can keep it in their special "book bag" that hangs on the back of their chair. This will not only help protect the books, but also help my kids be able to access their books quickly! Instead of sifting through their desks, getting distracted by other pages or books along the way, my kids can just reach straight into their chair pockets and get their books! They will be so excited to have a special place for their books, and their books will be so excited to never be jammed into a desk again!
