This is my 21st year as a teacher and my third time starting a secondary reading program at a school. Trying to get students excited about reading is hard, especially in high school. By giving students a comfortable and safe place to sit quietly without electronics, I hope to help them find, if not a love of reading, at least an appreciation for the written word. Reading is fundamental to everything in life. Improving reading scores improves math, science, and test scores as well. These items will be used to introduce students to some of the greatest writing of the past century in a new and unique way.

About my class
