These materials will spice things up in my classroom. These varied texts will help me design meaningful guided reading lessons that target desperately needed skills while still keeping my students interested. These texts range from the classics to more modern and relatable fiction stories with engaging characters as well as high interest non-fiction topics. Students who already struggle to focus, should have the opportunity to experience reading as fun and stimulating, not routine and boring. With these varied titles, I can get my students reading authentic texts and target strategies that will build their reading confidence, stamina and their ability to transfer reading skills across titles, topics and genres.
