Our school opened in 18-19, and our staff was hired from schools all over the United States. The books I have chosen for this professional development plan will support our veteran and novice teachers in developing strong literacy instruction in grades K-5 and helps us collaboratively create a literacy instruction plan across all grade levels to support our students foundational literacy skills. Our staff has many novice teachers who need support in planning and implementing effective literacy instruction that meets the needs of all students. Our students have a wide range of literacy abilities from below grade level to well above grade level. This professional development will allow our staff to support the growth and achievement of all our students regardless of their literacy level.
