In a traditional 6th-12th grade classroom, students engage in reading novels and great works. Non English speakers miss out on the discovery of such books due to a language barrier. Many English learners do not read in their home language or do not read well enough to participate with a Spanish translated text. Using language specific audio books, students can engage in rich new vocabulary and explore new ideas by hearing the story in their home language. I want my students reading and growing every step of the way! Giving them audio books will help them acquire content while learning English!
