The idea for this project came from an English teacher who visited another local high school looking for ideas that had engaged and improved the learning of their students. That school's library had 4 of these desk exercise bikes, and the students loved them! These exercise bikes with a desk will allow our students to better focus and read or type on a laptop because they are simultaneously burning their excess energy. With better focus will inevitably come better learning. Further, the bike is quiet and stationary, which allows other students to continue to work without distraction. I predict competition for a turn on one of the two bikes during class research time or during lunch study time!
