These materials will help our students to self-regulate, build self-esteem, and receive the sensory input their bodies need to be successful throughout the school day. Have you ever had a time when you just could not sit anymore and just had to move your body, that is what our sensory room will do for our students. And boy do we need it!! This will help our students that struggle with self-control and behaviors issues. This room will be accessible to the entire school, benefiting 400 students. These materials will be used in conjunction with our sensory path that the students will use to move down the hallway to the sensory room. Research has shown that in schools where students have access to these materials it has improved students' attention, health, and behaviors.
