We are a newly founded high school and are still scaling up to meet the needs of our growing student body. In 9th grade composition, we learn vital skills for high school success through writing essays centering on current events and social issues. Throughout the year, students attack, annotate, and analyze rigorous articles and texts. Even though these students are tech savvy, nothing replaces the analysis skills learned through annotating a text. Providing my classroom a student printer will allow students to conduct their own research and access hard copies of their research texts. Many of my students do not have access to a printer or public library outside of school. Help me bring resources inside my classroom so that my students can attain success.
