“Art therapy uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.” –American Art Therapy Association, 2012 Block printing is an art process that my students have yet to experience due to lack of school funds. I would love to expose my students to block printing due to the phenomenal benefits for their overall wellness-- emotional, physical, and mental. Block printing is an ancient art form that is ultimately creating a stamp. Students would create a relief linoleum carving from a drawing they have created and then create ink prints from their original "stamp." Stamps can be reused over and over again and the supplies purchased can help bring block printing art to my classes for years to come.
